Who assumes the risk?

When you spend your money on advertising, who takes the risk? You're right, you do. In spite of the unbridled optimisim of certain forms of advertising, if you ask them for some type of guarantee, you'll most likely get laughed out of the room...or off the internet.

In what way is that possibly fair? It's not. So at 3PLFinder, we decided that we would take the risk: sign up at the regular rate ($349 per year), and you don't pay again until you get an account from the website that you feel justifies the cost.

Our current paid listing are getting dozens of inquiries a month. Come on...what have you got to lose?

A Bad Customer Service Day

A few days ago, I had a bad “customer service day”. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about and you could probably tell a better (or worse) story than mine.

It started when I went to the computer store to pick up a battery for my laptop that I had ordered two weeks previously. I intentionally picked this particular store to “support the local economy”. No doubt I could have ordered it online at a fraction of the cost. I arrived at the store at 10:10 AM; the store theoretically opened at ten, but the door was locked and the lights were out. I waited outside the store for another five minutes, and then left to run the second leg of my errands…to the dreaded cell phone store.

I have never understood the cell phone business. It’s like they intentionally set out to make your experience unpleasant. There are never enough sales people and they always act irritated when you show up. I stood and watched as the employees moved at a glacial pace. No one acknowledged me. After 15 minutes I left and returned to the computer store.

I mentioned to the computer store owner that I had been there previously. He seemed unphased. “I was running late” he said, without much conviction. I told him that I was there to pick up the battery. After a few minutes of searching, he told me the battery was on backorder. He didn’t know when it would arrive. “That would have been some good information to have…two weeks ago! I returned to work without a battery or a cell phone.

I mention this because at 3PLFinder, we really care about whether you are getting your money's worth. If you are looking for a warehouse, we want your search to be easy and successful. If you are a third party warehouse, we want you to get new business that generates many times your investment. We are so committed to this, that if you don't get new business that you feel justifies your investment, you don't pay again until you do.
